Scholarship
The Doolittle Tokyo Raiders’ Board of Directors announces
the establishment of the General James H. Doolittle Scholarship
Fund with the Communities Foundation of Texas to honor their leader
in perpetuity. Purpose of the fund is to assist college students
through the award of one scholarship annually in the maximum amount
of $5,000 to a deserving student who is pursuing a baccalaureate
or advanced degree in aeronautical engineering or an aerospace science.
The selection criteria shall include scholastic achievement, school
and community participation, demonstrated leadership potential and
financial need. Applicants must: |

- Be in good standing as a student.
- Be pursuing a bachelor’s or advanced degree in courses
leading to a degree in aeronautical engineering or an aerospace
science.
- Have completed at least 52 hours of college course work by the
end of the academic semester during which the application is made.
- Have a minimum grade point average of 2.75 on a 4.0 scale. A
current transcript must accompany the application.
- Be a U.S. citizen and a resident of the U.S. or its possessions.
- Be in need of financial assistance.
- Submit two written letters of recommendation, one of which must
be from an academic advisor or professor.
- Submit a scholarly paper expressing the applicant’s reasons
for pursing a degree in aeronautical engineering or an aerospace
science.
